About ExtraCogent

ExtraCogent is the portfolio of Edward Shin, interactive designer in Pittsburgh, PA.

Ed is a visual thinker with a penchant for data visualization, infographics, and anything else that communicates complex information. When not dealing with data sets and process flows, Ed also takes on graphic design projects. If you're not careful, you'll get Ed started about how horrible the interfaces are in most web applications and consumer devices.

Ed earned his B.S. in Computational Biology from Carnegie Mellon University where he spent more time agonizing over the aesthetic presentation of his labs and the eloquence of his code rather than the implications of his data.
